Manifesto
A flag is not evidence.
Anyone can put a European flag on a landing page. Almost nobody checks whether it is true: whether the company is really European-owned, governed by European law, and running on infrastructure outside the reach of foreign compulsion. FindInEurope exists to do the checking, and to show its work.

Evidence over labels
A flag in the footer is a marketing choice, not a fact. We check the things that actually decide sovereignty: who owns the company, which law governs it, where it is legally seated, and where your data physically lives. We check these against primary sources: public registers, regulators, and filings.

Verified, claimed, or unknown
Confidence is shown, never hidden. A claim backed by a register or regulator is marked verified. A self-declaration in a privacy policy is marked claimed. What we could not establish is marked unknown. We never dress a self-declaration up as proof, and the score counts it for less.

The score is public and deterministic
The same evidence always produces the same score. The algorithm and its weights are published in full, so anyone can reproduce a number or challenge it. There is no editorial dial to turn, only the evidence.

Independence is the product
FindInEurope is built for a non-profit foundation, Fundamenta Europa, now in registration; until that completes it is operated by Seethru Research sp. z o.o. No service can pay for a listing, a score, or a position in a ranking, and none ever will. If we ever earn from an outbound link, it will be labelled on the page and it will not move a single number.

Sovereignty is a spectrum, not a flag
EU/EEA, EFTA and the UK, EU-candidate countries, and the rest are not the same thing, and we never pretend they are. We say which jurisdiction a service answers to and let you decide how much that matters for your case.
Nothing here asks for your trust. Every score is sourced, dated, and open to challenge, and if we have a claim wrong, tell us and we will fix it in public.
